- For large video files, compress them to a level where all the choreographic elements are still recognisable
- Put all the choreography files in a specific folder on your computer
- Give the folder a clear descriptive name.
- ZIP the folder by right-clicking on the folder name
- Save the folder and ZIP file as a backup on a USB stick
- Create your Copyright House account
- Log into your secure registration area
- Register your choreographic work
- Download the the choreographic work's certificate of registration and store it in the same folder as the registered work on your device and USB stick

Application of a Department of Choreography Copyright Registration account takes about 5 - 10 minutes.
The steps are:
- Fill out the Copyright House Department of Choreography Copyright Registration form
- Log into your Secure registration area
- Follow the steps of registration
- Upload the choreographic work into your account
- Download the certificate of registration
